Death in the Star Wars Universe

Fiction is the perfect place to explore death, grief, and mourning rituals. It gives us the freedom to play with ideas that might be impossible or taboo in the real world. Whether these rituals are inspired by real cultures or come entirely from the imagination, fiction lets us break apart our ideas about loss and mourning and see them from new perspectives.

I love exploring death, grief, and mourning in Star Wars, but I've often found myself digging through Wookieepedia or paging through books trying to find something I vaguely remember reading about a particular culture's funerary traditions. It can be surprisingly difficult to track everything down. So, I decided to create this collection, a place to gather what we know about death rituals, funeral customs, and beliefs from across the Star Wars galaxy. Whether you're here for fic research, worldbuilding, or you're just as fascinated by these traditions as I am, I hope you find something interesting.
